Biska Jatra, the weeks-long festival of Bhaktapur marks the old solar Nava Barsha (New Year) and is the only festival that does not follow the calendar of Nepali based on the Moon. The jatra starts in Bhaktapur following a special tantric ceremony at th Bhairab temple in Taumadhi Tole.
